Thank you for serving as a judge for the Creative Arts for Climate Action Student Competition, a Southern Oregon University–focused initiative presented by Usolec Company and aligned with Earth Day 2026. We are grateful for your time, expertise, and thoughtful participation in evaluating student creative work centered on climate action and environmental responsibility. This portal provides all materials, scoring tools, and support information needed for the judging process. Please review the materials below at your convenience, and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Earth Day 2026 Theme Reference

EARTHDAY.org Theme: Our Power. Our Planet.

The Earth Day 2026 theme emphasizes the importance of renewable and clean energy, collective responsibility, and environmental stewardship. It highlights the role of individuals, communities, and organizations in advocating for sustainable practices and climate solutions, and supports the global goal of tripling clean electricity generation by 2030. Submissions are evaluated on how effectively they engage with the spirit and intent of this theme through creative expression.

Judge Packet & Reference Materials

Judge Packet Overview

     The Judge Packet is a comprehensive reference document designed to support a clear, consistent, and fair judging process for the Creative Arts for Climate Action Student Competition. It includes an overview of the competition, the Earth Day 2026 theme, Our Power. Our Planet, category-specific judging guidance, the official scoring rubric, submission guidelines, and the judge code of conduct.

 

     The packet also contains a full copy of the Southern Oregon University Creative Arts Competition Rules & Guidelines, which all student participants are required to read and agree to before submitting their work.

 

          Judges are encouraged to review the packet in its entirety to ensure a shared understanding of expectations, criteria, and process throughout the evaluation period.

Scoring Forms

Judges will receive Google Form scoring links for each assigned submission.
Each score card:

  • Is pre-filled with the submission title and artist name

  • Follows the official 100-point scoring rubric

  • Automatically calculates totals upon submission

If you believe a form is missing or incorrect, please contact the Program Director.

Time Tracking & Compensation

Due to the lack of sponsorships, currently, judges are not being paid. If this project gets additional sponsorships, that will change. Judges are compensated at a rate of $20.00 per hour for time spent reviewing submissions and completing score cards.

  • Please log your time using the Judge Time Tracking Form

  • Time may be logged in one or multiple entries

  • Payment will be processed after scores are submitted
